Rhys Willemse Rider Profile

Rhys asked me to do him up a rider profile/proposal after his mum saw one of the ones I've made for Chris Kovarik. Rhys is super talented, has a lot of heart and a great personality. So I whipped this up for him in an attempt to get all those fine qualities out there! Good Luck in 2011 Rhys!

note that these are current sponsors and may change for 2011.

Craft Time.

I haven't had TV for years now. Not that I want to watch all those lies anyways....I'd much rather spend my time getting crafty. Gotta cover the bare walls somehow! Heres a little collage of random magazine pieces, fabrics and my own artwork. Just some fun.

Finders Keepers

Went and checked out the finders keepers independent design and art markets today in Brisbane. It was amazing and really inspirational. Artists had everything from jewelry to pillow cases to hand made stuffed animals and creatures on display and there was some beautiful artwork to look at. I could have wandered around all day. Check out www.thefinderskeepers.com for a peek at some of the artists and designers. I hope to one day have my own art work there. One day when I can dedicate more time to it! Soon... :)

Doodle, Doodle, Draw, Draw.....

Heres just a few sketches I thought I'd post to mix things up a bit.

Today I am off to Australia until spring for some training, racing and coaching. When I'm not on the bike, I will be freelancing and probably chilling at the beach :) I am sure I will find inspiration there.....

Talk to you in Oz!

Web Design

Annum, a new snowboard clothing company,  has asked me to design a new website for them. Since I am finishing my last course in Web Design, this will be both great experience and challenging! But it works out good because they don't have a huge budget to hire a super accomplished web designer. I aim to succeed at this project and make my client happy as well as help build my professional portfolio.

Luxury Products Industry equals clean, rich and modern feel.
Web design is cool because you have to design with the specific industry's market and the specific company's goals/identity/style in mind. As I haven't designed a full working website for a real client as of yet(my webfolio coming soon),  here are a few interfaces I have done.
Check em out....

Financial Industry equals simple, to the point, corporate feel.

Fashion Industry(this particular company) equals young, urban and cool feel.

Retro Luggage!

On route to Baja last year, Lauren(also an artist)and I saw this crazy art installation in the Sacramento airport baggage claim area. Apparently it cost tens of thousands of dollars to complete but wether or not it was worth the money, it was still made up of some super cool retro and vintage luggage pieces. I would like to paint on old suitcases one day..... :)

Trees.

Trees have always been one of my favorite pieces of the natural world. They are so perfectly imperfect, none the same. To me they represent energy and fresh air and the notion that imperfection is beautiful. So I draw them. A lot. Well, my version of them. Here is a recent series of three that I have done in ink for my portfolio. Enjoy!
